Dr. Michelle Lohnes (formerly Bell) graduated from the University of Guelph with her Ph.D. in Applied Developmental Psychology and is a practicing Registered Psychologist. She is registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario in the areas of Clinical and School Psychology.
Dr. Lohnes works with children, adolescents, and adults in treatment in relation to anxiety, grief, depression, emotion regulation and behavioural concerns, post-traumatic stress and adjustment difficulties, interpersonal relationships, parenting, work place stress/injury, and motor vehicle injury. She works from an integrated approach to therapy which is client centred and draws from a variety of theoretical orientations (e.g., CBT, Emotion Focussed, Interpersonal, Dynamic). Dr. Lohnes also works with couples to strengthen communication and intimacy in relationships. She has completed Level 1 and Level 2 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy.
Dr. Lohnes provides comprehensive psychological assessments for children, adolescents, and adults for the assessment of Learning and Developmental Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD and behavioural difficulties, anxiety based disorders (GAD, OCD, Social Anxiety), depression and stress reactions (PTSD), and personality functioning. Dr. Lohnes also completes assessment for treatment and disability based assessments.
